Disney Animated Films Wrap-Up
WHEW.
First of all: Watching 56 films in 14 days is difficult. Watching 56 films and trying to write a semi-coherent review of each one in 14 days is pretty much impossible.
This was a bucket-list marathon for me for many, many years, and it only became much more pronounced once I began working at The Disneyland Resort. There are stories told within the parks that I had no clue what they referenced, because I had never seen the films they were based on. By my count, of 56 films, there were 17 I had never seen before, and a great deal more I hadn’t seen in at least 20 years.
Having watched all the films, I remain amazed at the power of a line on a piece of paper, and what it can do. The medium may have changed a bit, but the ability to create something out of nothing is astounding, and even though some the films are REALLY bad, they are all testaments to the talents of the artists who brought them to life.
I want to conclude this marathon with a few thanks. First, thanks to my best friend Manuel, who made the trek to my apartment every few days to swap out the next set of movies; his passion for Disney Films helped me realize this long-gestating goal of mine. Another thanks to my husband Chuck, who not only put up me with being stuck at home recuperating for two weeks, but also allowed me to have full command of the TV during that time, and also is my proofreader extraordinaire, helping these reviews seem at least somewhat intelligent.
Finally, to all my Facebook friends whose feeds I blew up with this project, thank you, and I’m sorry I cluttered your feeds for a month and a half! I hope those of you who read the reviews enjoyed them!
And now, without any further ado, here are my final rankings of all 56 Disney Animated Classics, from best to worst...enjoy!
